Hi, my name is Coco Decrouppé. I was born in Hamburg, Germany. I grew up in Wels, Austria. I ╠üve moved 11 times to other cities or continents. At the moment I live in Cary, North Carolina and I love it here.

1. Why did you move abroad?

From Oklahoma to Shanghai to Sydney to Hong Kong: The Renditions of Renoir

17 August, 2015 09:56  Erin Erin

Emily Wiltshire Renditions of Renoir My name is Emily Wiltshire though to many I could be “MimiCakes” or “Mommy” and I am originally from good ole’ Oklahoma! We are currently (and just recently) back in Oklahoma after spending several years overseas that included Shanghai, China; Sydney, Australia and Hong Kong.

1. Why did you move abroad?
We first moved abroad for my husband’s company. I still remember the day he came home from work and told me about his boss asking about us possibly moving to Shanghai. After a few hours of research on the computer I told him I was in. He thought I was crazy (and wasn’t so sure himself!) but off we went, in tow with our 1 1/2 year old son! And what was supposed to be a 2 1/2 year stint turned into 3 different countries in 6 1/2 years and adding two more sons to the family!

have to move to Canada!

From Cotswolds to Maryland: Desperate English Housewife in Washington

03 November, 2014 08:25  Erin Erin

UK Desperate Housewife in USAClaire McGill from the lovely Cotswolds, England and now living in Columbia, Maryland, USofA.

1. Why did you move abroad?
The decision to move to the USA wasn’t based on the fact that we thought the grass would be greener; we simply wanted to water, smell, walk on and nurture a different type of grass for a while. Our philosophy is that change is good, opportunities are meant to be taken, and a little bit of excitement, risk, and the unknown are tonics for the soul and for relationships.

Plus, I had a nagging fascination with things like Glee, Miami Vice, Fame, The Wire and Desperate Housewives and I kind of wanted to see if any of it is true. (Between you and me, some of it is).

From Suffolk to San Miguel de Allende: Twenty First century Nomad

04 August, 2014 09:31  Erin Erin

Twenty First Century Nomad My name is Steven Moore, and I am originally from the seaside town of Lowestoft, Suffolk in the U.K. I am delighted to be currently living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

1. Why did you move abroad?
I first went travelling as a 20 year old with very little money and a backpack, and I’ve never really stopped. I fell in love with adventure and life on ‘the road,’ and always felt more at home when I wasn’t at home, if that makes sense? I’ve lived in several different countries now, and I doubt I will ever live in England again. It must be the rain.

From the USA to Mexico: Escaping Abroad

14 July, 2014 09:54  Erin Erin

Escaping Abroad I’m James and I’m leaving the ‘American dream’ in my rear view to set out and explore the world we all live on but rarely see much of! I share my love for new travel adventures, scuba diving, wildlife encounters and discovering new cultures with blog posts, photos and videos at www.escapingabroad.com.

1. Why did you move abroad?
Since before I can remember I always wanted to explore other cultures and travel to far away places. But after college I found myself sitting in an office all day working. I was caught up in the materialism that surrounds us and couldn't afford to do the things I really wanted. So I gave it all up and left to seek a different lifestyle.
