From the UK to New Zealand to the French Alps: Jumping off Books

16 July, 2018 21:06  Erin Erin

Jumping off Books I’m Naomi, I’m originally from the UK but I now have dual citizenship and am a proud New Zealander. I currently live in a small resort town high in the French Alps

1.    Why did you move abroad?
When I was 27 I decided to blow a chunk of the deposit I’d been saving for a flat in London and go travelling instead. Best decision ever! During my year away I spent a few months in New Zealand and as the plane took off to whizz me onto my next destination I realised I was leaving a bit of my heart behind, and that I’d better return to join it!

I had a few other things I wanted to do in London – like buy that flat and tick the city box, but I only took a couple of years and I was itching to sell everything and get ‘home’. I persuaded my boyfriend to give it a shot with me, and we emigrated together.

De la Région Parisienne à l'Afrique du Sud : Ngisafunda

12 July, 2018 08:00  Expat Interviews Expat Interviews

From Russia to USA: Travel Eat Blog

02 July, 2018 20:38  Erin Erin

Eat Travel Blog USA Hi, my name is Marina, I was born in the south of Russia, in a city called Volgograd (formerly known as Stalingrad). I now live in the United States, I just finished college and I am ready to explore the world.

1.    Why did you move abroad?
I went to the United States as a high school exchange student. I spent a year learning English, living in a host family and going to an American high school. It was a free program: students from some European and Asian countries are given a chance every year at a competition and they can win a year abroad in the US. It was a wonderful experience, I learned the language, made friends across the world and travelled more than I ever have!

After I returned home to Russia, I applied for a couple of colleges in Moscow and a couple in the United States.
I decided to come back to the US and see what new adventures it will bring. Since then I graduated college and studied abroad in Spain and got my first job in America. I still strive to explore the world as much as I can, and I am planning on going to graduate school, too. Still more adventures to come!

Da Sardegna a Copenaghen: itaGIRLSonTHEroad

25 June, 2018 10:14  Erin Erin

Italian copenhagen Mi chiamo Rosa, vivo in Danimarca vicino a Copenaghen e attualmente scrivo sul blog Italian girls on the road.

1. Perché ti sei trasferito all'estero?

From Canada to the USA to New Zealand: Jandals & Togs

18 June, 2018 21:48  Erin Erin

Jandals & Togs My name is Grant Highstead. I am currently an Emergency Medicine physician, but this is a second career for me. I grew up in Canada and moved to the U.S.A. nearly 30 years ago. I have a wife and a tween daughter, both of whom are from Texas. We returned to the US last October after living in New Zealand for a year and are working on moving back to NZ permanently, hopefully in the next several months.

1. Why did you move abroad?
My wife and I are always seeking out new experiences for ourselves as individuals, but also for our family. We were looking for another chapter for our lives in a new country and culture. Four years ago we spent two weeks travelling in a caravan through New Zealand’s North Island and decided to move there for a year. We loved it so much, we decided to move back permanently.

14 June, 2018 08:00  Expat Interviews Expat Interviews

MyIreland - OlivierHello everyone !
